Painting is the only thing I do without watching the clock.

My name is José María, and I have been painting for longer than I can remember. What began as a pastime gradually became, without me even realizing it, the  part of the day I look forward to the most. The moment when everything else simply ceases to exist.

Painter José María

I paint landscapes, flowers, beaches, open fields—whatever catches my eye. I do not have a single style, nor do I wish to have one; each painting asks for what it needs, and I strive to give it. Sometimes it is the delicacy of a watercolor. Other times, the texture and weight of an oil painting.

I do not work in series, nor do I make prints or copies. Each piece I finish exists only once. That holds immense value for me, and I hope it does for whoever hangs it in their home as well.

If you are here, it is because something caught your eye. Feel free to reach out, no strings attached—I love knowing where my paintings will find their home.

José María possesses something that cannot be taught: he knows when to stop. His paintings are neither too much nor too little. That, in an artist, is the rarest thing to find.
